Science Week at Anns Grove!

British Science Week is always a big event at Anns Grove! This year, the theme was ‘Change and Adapt’. In addition to class teachers delivering extra science lessons, we continued our tradition of inviting a number of guests into school to work with our pupils.

The children in Years 5 and 6 were also lucky enough to work alongside a team of staff from King Ecgbert School, who ran an activity on solving crimes using chromatography!

In addition to this, Year 4 were visited by students from the University of Sheffield’s Nature and Wild Society, who facilitated activities teaching pupils how animals are adapted to live in specific environments. This even included studying specimens of animal skeletons!

Finally, the pupils in Year 3 took part in a workshop delivered by the organisation Earth Soup, where they completed creative activities linked to the ecosystems found along the course of the River Don.
