Music
The music curriculum at Anns Grove has been developed to ensure that every pupil has access to a broad and robust musical education that provides them with ample and varied opportunities to listen, sing, improvise, compose and perform.
We have established a curriculum that is engaging and fun while also providing appropriate levels of challenge for all learners so that every pupil, irrespective of background, ability or need, can make continuous progress against the goals set out in the National Curriculum and the Model Music Curriculum.
Our long-term curriculum planning provides a sequenced framework that supports pupils’ progress by building on existing knowledge, skills and previous learning experiences. Every pupil in school receives weekly music lessons.
In addition to this, they have the opportunity to join lunchtime or after school clubs and take part in peripatetic music lessons.
Our ultimate aim is to provide our pupils with a lifelong love of music and the knowledge, skills and confidence to continue enjoying, composing and performing throughout secondary school and beyond.
