SEND
At Anns Grove Primary School, We Shine Together. We want all of our pupils to belong, achieve and participate in our school.
We provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every member of our school community is valued and respected.
Our broad, balanced, creative curriculum and enrichment activities provide opportunities for everyone to achieve and succeed and we celebrate everyone’s achievements.
Together we take pride in making a positive contribution to our school and the wider community.
We aim to provide every child with access to a broad and balanced education that meets their individual needs and enables them to reach their potential, preparing them for secondary school and adult life. This includes the National Curriculum in line with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice.
We aim to provide a learning environment that recognises the needs of all children as individuals, and use different techniques and resources to remove barriers to learning for pupils.
We follow legal recommendations as set out in:
- The statutory Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice
- Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014, which sets out schools’ responsibilities for pupils with SEND
- Section 69(2) of the Children and Families Act 2014
- The Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, which set out local authorities’ and schools’ responsibilities for education, health and care (EHC) plans, SEND co-ordinators (SENDCOs) and the special educational needs (SEND) information report
- The Equality Act 2010 (section 20), which sets out the school’s duties to make reasonable adjustments for pupils with disabilities
- The School Admissions Code, which sets out the school’s obligation to admit all pupils whose education, health and care (EHC) plan names the school, and its duty not to disadvantage unfairly children with a disability or with special educational needs
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENCO) is Nicola Eastburn.
If you have any concerns regarding your child, please do not hesitate to contact her via the school office or email neastburn@annsgrove.sheffield.sch.uk.
